Dear Internode Customer,
* New Premium Usenet service
Before the World Wide Web, there was Usenet.
Usenet is a system that provides a globally distributed discussion
system, spanning the globe and offering over 30,000 distinct Usenet
'newsgroups'.
While many discussions now take place using web based forums, Usenet is
still alive and well.
Many ISPs in Australia are winding back their support for Usenet
services, and only offering a 'partial' Usenet news feed, because of the
large resource requirements inherent in offering full newsgroup access
to their customers. However, Internode has moved in the other direction...
We have, today, launched a 'Premium grade' Usenet service, which offers
a full global Usenet feed at the same level offered by paid-access
'Premium' Usenet service providers in the USA. This new Usenet service
is available to our customers at no extra cost.
This service replaces the previous Internode Usenet service.
As a result, customers who have been using our old Usenet service may
need to reset the article cache in their Usenet client software in order
to gain access to the new service.
